Reseña del libro

The Moon, July 1969: Sergei, Soviet cosmonaut, in big trouble, remembers the events that led to this desperate situation. He remembers the stormy meetings devoted to the implementation of the Soviet lunar program, which had provoked so much controversy within the Politburo itself. He recalls training punctuated by incidents and sabotage, as well as his selection in the crew of the first flight with Svetlana, the only woman on the team. Everything happened in absolute secrecy, as politicians decided to send a Soviet to the moon before the Americans in defiance of security measures. After a first part of the flight without problems the situation deteriorated after the Moon landing. A total electrical failure forced Sergey to make a perilous exit to recover parts of the US probe Surveyor 5. The repair made and batteries recharged, Sergei can resume contact with the control center that teaches him to have lost any contact with Svetlana. Without Svetlana and his orbital module, there is only one chance for Sergei to return to Earth: being rescued by the Americans who landed on the Moon a few hours after him.
