This book is an introduction to the construction techniques of compilers. However, a large part of its contents can also be applied to other programs for translation between computer languages. The book offers the basic theoretical principles and practical aspects of the material, placing special emphasis on the design of procedural language translators. At the end of each chapter, a series of problems is proposed. The solution to each problem can be found in the books appendices.
