Reseña del libro

A growing number of people today think the Bible is filled with fairy tales and fables, but the author contends there are literally thousands of discoveries from archaeology that support the Bible as historically accurate and reliable. In this informative yet easy-to-read book, Jan Sessions shares her own personal "journey of enlightenment," including many faith-building discoveries from her own research as well as eye-witness observations from her recent trip to Israel and Jordan. Fables Don't Leave Footprints contains over 120, full-color photographs of what the author calls "footprints"--physical, outside-the-Bible evidences left behind by people, places, and events recorded in the Bible. Based on the evidence, "there are more reasons than ever to believe!" Excerpts from the book: Perhaps, like me, you grew up learning all the major stories of the Bible but you never knew how they fit into the Big Picture of History. It was like the Bible existed in a vacuum. It's nobody's fault, really--that's just how the Bible is typically taught. But then one day my 9th Grade Ancient History teacher mentioned King Nebuchadnezzar and I had my first "Aha!" moment. "He's in the Bible!" I blurted out. That was a faith-building moment for me. Although I had never doubted the accuracy of the Bible, it was exciting to discover that the Bible and world history were undeniably "connected." Sadly, most Christians have very few, if any, "Aha!" moments. We go through life believing the Bible is true but are generally unaware of the vast array of outside-the-Bible evidences that verify the Bible as "real history." Then I stumbled upon the missing piece--the key that virtually unlocked the mystery for me and corroborated the Bible's story in an amazing way. What is this key that I found so helpful? It's Archaeology--the study of old things! ... Searching for answers beyond the pages of the Bible does not indicate a lack of faith, as some may think. After all, we are separated from Bible times by thousands of miles and years! Tangible, physical evidence simply provides us with a visual link to the past, assisting our faith in the unseen to grow. You might even say, "Archaeology is where the Bible takes shape!"
