In 1549, Bernardino Daza Pinciano translated into Spanish one of the most important books of the Renaissance. Indeed, in 1531, the Emblematum liber, by Andrea Alciato opened the brilliant genre of books of emblems. The study of Rafael Zafra helps to understand the work in its entirety. And the very useful table of correspondences between the various editions of the emblems definitely guide us through the history of this publication, from its appearance until the late seventeenth century.
