Reseña del libro

Pranayama is the conscious awareness of breath: the life force that both invigorates and relaxes the body. The term is derived from the Sanskrit, prana, meaning "life force," and ayama, meaning "expansion."The controlled breathing enables both the rhythm of performing poses and relaxing the mind for observation. Each stage of pranayama has the effect of enhancing physical consciousness and enforcing self-examination; therefore, as a whole, pranayama is a key element in the ultimate pursuit of enlightenment. In our days the human being lives more years and his quality of life improves by scientific advances, but still gives way to all kinds of psychological, emotional and physical disorders as a result of less attention to the most elementary functions. ¬ The most important thing is how you breathe. The breath is the first act of life of a human being from birth to death. Should ¬ we know that air is our essential food? we're so worried and under so much stress. The atrophy of the act of breathing leads to ¬ depletion of energy, which highpoints a premature aging. The organs irrigated by a little oxygenated blood make the bad operation ¬of the brain. Moreover, it does not allow the faculty to develop intellectual functions. However, it is important to remember that the respiratory apparatus constituted by the lungs is covered by a spongy organ traversed by bronchi, which conduct the air to be renewed in the alveoli. This requires the expansion and retraction of the thoracic cage, in which the lung and the respiratory muscles act like the diaphragm. This book includes easy and advance breathing exercises and attunements to its energy.
