The volume gathers five studies and articles written recently regarding various aspects of Prehistoric animal osseous materials industry in Romania, from Upper Paleolithic (hunting weaponry - projectile points), Mesolithic (red-deer antler artefacts), Early Neolithic (first synthesis regarding the osseous objects), Neolithic and Copper Age (database related to discoveries from a site located in Transylvania) and the use of fossil shells as adornments in the Bronze Age (of the same region). The book offers a coherent image that is issued from recent data. It reflects the present methodology of the domain and some specific achievements for the Prehistoric archaeology from Romania, integrated in a macro-regional and continental context. The book aims to mark the jubilee of 20 years for Romanian systematic research of osseous materials artefacts (1992 - 2012).
