Reseña del libro

The four verses described in this book are taken from Shrimad Bhagavatam. These four verses are the basis of the Bhagavatam consisting of 18,000 verses. In fact, they are the essence of the Upanishads. The Bhagavatam is one of the 18 major Puranas and is the most popular Hindu scripture. Just like all other Puranas, this Purana too was composed by Sage Vedavaysa, who was born more than 5000 years ago. Before the creation, Lord Vishnu, also known as Lord Shri Krishna, narrated these four verses to Brahma, the creator. In this book, the author has given the meaning and the explanation of these four verses. It is a general belief that the Bhagavatam is purely a Bhakti (devotional) scripture, and Jnana (Vedantic philosophy) has no place in it. The author has looked at the Bhagavatam from a different, uncommon angle. Based on these four verses and some other chapters from the Bhagavatam, it is explained that, though Srimad Bhagavatam is primarily a Bhakti scripture, it gives equal importance to Jnana.
