It is an early summer day in 1932. A five-year old girl is walking down a country road scented by honeysuckle growing in the ditches alongside. With her suitcase in one hand and her favorite doll in the other, she is going home to her grandfather's farm.She had spent the night on the train from New York City. Her mother had sent her on ahead until she could tidy up her affairs. The Great Depression left many fractured families like hers in its wake. Follow this little girl as she journeys from the hustle of New York City to her rural Virginia immigrant grandparents' hundred-acre farm. An adventure begins!
