Originally published in 1897, The Triumph of Death is a narrative account of the author. It belongs to the cycle "The novels of the Rose". The story is set in the Abruzzo region, the birthplace of the poet. The noble Giorgio Aurispa leaves from Rome, after witnessing a suicide. Giorgio arrives in the beautiful city of stone, and is fascinated by the sculptures, however, is terrified by the popular beliefs: as fear of witches. The character is always terrifed by the presence of death and later concluded tragically.
