Head and neck cancers (HNCs) refer to a diverse, aggressive and genetically complicated group of malignancies. These cancers affect the salivary glands, hypopharynx, nasopharynx, larynx, oral cavity, oropharynx and paranasal sinuses. The initial diagnosis of HNC is essential in establishing a patient's final prognosis because of the limited therapeutic choices for recurring and advanced malignancies. The management of HNCs is difficult and requires a multidisciplinary approach. It can be treated with systemic therapy, surgery and radiotherapy.
