The generation and propagation of ultra-wideband electromagnetic pulses are the main focus of this book. It begins with the need of basic electromagnetics and will clarify the frequency and time domain approach for their best adaptation, which is the foundation of the subject. It goes on to discuss the details of different numerical methods used in computational electromagnetics to the level of fair knowledge. Then the need for time domain treatment is explained, followed by the full use of the Finite-difference Time-domain (FDTD) approach for solving electromagnetic problems. The author presents comprehensive studies of electromagnetic wave and its propagation in free space, dielectric media, complex media and in guiding structures such as waveguide and transmission lines, antennas etc. The book brings a new approach for analyzing electromagnetic modes for pulsed electromagnetic systems and develops the understanding of EM modes responsible for radiating far-fields.
