Bloomsbury Children's Books is excited to announce the publication of a paperback edition of the number one bestselling Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone Illustrated Edition by J.K. Rowling and illustrated by Jim Kay. Published in a smaller format, this is the perfect illustrated edition for smaller hands. The paperback will have a new jacket showing Hagrid flying from Privet Drive on his motorbike, and contain key highlights of Jim Kay's stunning art from the hardback edition. Priced at £14.99, it will include a pull-out poster of the Norwegian Ridgeback dragon. The hardback edition will continue to be available.Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone Illustrated Edition was published to huge acclaim in October 2015. Sales of the book exceeded 100,000 copies through UK TCM within the first six months of publication. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Illustrated Edition followed in October 2016 and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban Illustrated Edition in October 2017. All three books hit the number one position in the official UK Children's TCM chart. Jim Kay's inspired reimagining of J.K. Rowling's classic series will continue in autumn 2019 with Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Illustrated Edition. The Harry Potter novels have now sold over 500 million copies worldwide and have been translated into 80 languages. Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone was voted the nation's favourite children?s book in a 2013 poll by reading charity BookTrust and celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2017.

La saga de Harry Potter, con más de 600 millones de ejemplares vendidos y traducida a múltiples idiomas, es su obra más influyente. También escribe novela negra bajo el seudónimo Robert Galbraith, mostrando su versatilidad como autora.


En 2020, J.K. Rowling volvió a escribir para niños con el cuento de hadas El ickabog, que primero publicó de forma gratuita en línea durante el confinamiento; más tarde donó todos los derechos de autor del libro para ayudar a los grupos vulnerables más afectados por la pandemia de Covid-19. J.K. Rowling confiesa que siempre quiso ser escritora. Vive en Escocia con su familia.
