The storm clears to reveal a rainbow, and the butterfly flies toward it, enticed by its beautiful colours. But the storm has not entirely passed, and the butterfly is struck by a raindrop that sends her tumbling to the ground. It is now up to the butterfly's friends to save her. How the Butterfly Got Her Colours is an interactive children's book meant to teach young readers that beauty is about more than our outward appearance. Through lessons in self-expression and self-acceptance, author Jade A. Blayk encourages young readers to embrace what makes them beautiful.
