Periodista y autora americana, Taffy Brodesser-Akner nació el 26 de octubre de 1975 en Nueva York, creciendo en el seno de una familia judía ortodoxa. Estudió en la Universidad de Nueva York y se casó con Claude Brodesser, de quien adquirió el apellido.
Brodesser-Akner ha trabajado como periodista freelance para medios como GQ, ESPN The Magazine o Texas Monthly y es redactora en The New York Times. Sus artículos sobre celebridades le han conseguido premios como el New York Press Club Award o el Mirror Award.
En 2019 publicó su primer libro, Fleishman Is In Trouble, que se publicaría en español bajo el título Fleishman está en apuros. Con él quedó nominada al Women's Prize for Fiction 2020.
