While serving six years in the New York State prison system, Miquel A. Powell used poetry to reflect on the love, pain, and pleasure surrounding his troublesome life. Now, as a BSW student at the College at Brockport located outside of Rochester, New York- Mr. Powell has transformed his life as prophesized in many of his poems. Most people live their lives as if the outcome was just a matter of chance, but Mr. Powell believes that everything happens for a reason and that his poetry reaches, and teaches all.
