This is "Continental Army Series ...Odds and Ends" only (Volumes I and II of the series are available separately.)More than an anthology, "The Continental Army Series: Reality and Aspiration in the American Revolutionary Era," at over 1000 pages, is a treasure trove of articles, excerpts, and short pieces; covering original writings and authors spanning from about 1700 to 1830, mostly American, but occasionally including some British and European writers. In it are contemporary essays, poetry, humor literature, letters, stage plays, book reviews, extracts from novels, orderly books, memoirs, histories of the day - and much more, with sometimes (though more rarely) writings of authors of a later generation, but who are addressing the same time period. All of which serve to bring to life colonial, Revolutionary era, and post Revolutionary America in a way little seen before. This add-on volume to the Continental Army series is replete with active URL links to websites, such as YouTube videos, and especially suitable therefore for viewing on Kindle for PC. Yet even if such links are not availed of, there is still a more than ample amount of material contained here for either ordinary print reading.
