Are you banging your head trying to figure out how your relationship went from a fairytale to a train-wreck? Over time, the narcissist resents you for putting up with the emotional and psychological abuse they put you through, which often includes invading your boundaries, denying what happened or what was said in order to make you question your sanity (i.e. Gaslighting), demeaning and humiliating you, isolating you from family and friends, hurting your loved ones, withholding love and sex, threatening your stability and security and preventing your success and satisfaction that they seek out new sources of narcissistic supply. Yes, regardless of how much you put up with and the fact that they secretly enjoy causing you to suffer, they eventually resent you for continuing to be such a doormat and need to find new sources of supply to frustrate. It is the definition of sick pathological behavior. You need answers to understand why this relationship was so difficult and is so devastatingly hard to recover from.
