Set on Queensland's Sunshine Coast, this story focuses on Jasmine, a young woman who loves seabirds especially pelicans. Her ambition is to study so she can take a more active role in their preservation. She meets Andy, the reptile handler at the zoo. Andy's flatmate Brad the trawler fisherman, suspects that Andy is involved in the coast's drug trade. He tries to warn Jasmine. Jasmine's estranged father visiting from Sydney is likewise connected with the drug circle, and is later found murdered. Jasmine becomes unwittingly involved in the criminal activity, and the police focus their attention on her, as she struggles to protest her innocence. Can Brad protect her from Andy's web of deceit? How far will Andy go in his trail of destruction? Jasmine becomes a victim in Andy's final showdown, but the tragedy leads her to a promising future and a holiday she will never forget.
