Reseña del libro "American Alcalde Los Angeles History Chronicled Through Stories of its Mayoral Elections (en Inglés)"

The American Alcalde series chronicles over 175 years of Los Angeles mayoral election history, detailing the municipality's transformation from a once small Spanish and Mexican pueblo into the preeminent global city it is today. This volume includes stories about Fletcher Bowron, a mayor who guided Los Angeles through the second world war, and who reformed city government while engaging in many of the same illicit practices he often complained were employed by others. Clifford Clinton, the civic-minded gadfly who brought down a mayor while revolutionizing ways to affordably feed people around world. Norris Poulson, the mayor who helped bring the Dodgers to Los Angeles. And Robert Yeakel, a television star automobile dealer whose rocket to stardom ultimately crashed and burned.
