Reseña del libro "Assessment of Smart Building Technologies in Nigeria: Architects' Knowledge, Readiness and Adoption (en Inglés)"
Smart buildings are transforming how we design, construct and operate buildings, improving energy efficiency, comfort and safety. However, adoption among architects in Nigeria remains limited, which may hinder sustainable and resilient development. This study assesses architects' knowledge and acceptability of smart building concepts in Nigeria.A mixed-methods approach is used, combining a survey questionnaire and semi-structured interviews with practicing architects. The survey evaluates knowledge of smart systems, including automation, sensors and data analytics, as well as perceptions of benefits, challenges and attitudes toward integration in design and construction. Interviews provide deeper insights into professional experiences and views. The study aims to identify knowledge gaps and barriers to adoption, offering an overview of current practices in Nigeria. Its findings will support policymakers and stakeholders in developing strategies and policies to promote smart building technologies and improve sustainable construction practices in the country.
