As the fourth most common malignancy and the second leading cause of cancer mortality in China, liver cancer poses a serious threat to the life and health of the Chinese. This book provides a detailed overview of great progress made in clinical management of liver cancer in China through past decades, including first hepatectomy for liver cancer in China in 1958, development of the liver anatomy theory of "five lobes and four segments", the application of alpha-fetoprotein in liver cancer screening, and the continuous advancement of theories and techniques related to the large liver cancer resection, as well as multimodality treatment which becomes a universal approach to treat liver cancer at present.
