HE'S MISSING... FIND HIMThis book's narrative revolves around two real individuals: renowned movie composer Jerry Goldsmith and master trumpet player Uan Rasey, who overcame polio as a child. During his convalescence, Rasey began teaching himself to play the trumpet. By the time he was an adult, Rasey's trumpet skills had become so remarkable that MGM hired him as the principal trumpet player in their studio orchestra. He held this position from the late 1940s until his retirement in the early 1970s.

In 1974, Goldsmith was hired to compose the score for the Paramount movie Chinatown, but was given only 10 days to complete it. From the outset, Goldsmith decides to feature a solo trumpet throughout the score. Goldsmith knew he had to get the best trumpet player available, and for him, that meant Uan Rasey.

This book takes the above facts and creates a fictional story around them.

The fictional problem is that Mr. Rasey has disappeared, and no one knows his whereabouts or if he is even still alive. Goldsmith sends his young assistant to find Mr. Rasey or else. Does Swanson find Mr. Rasey in time to play on the Chinatown soundtrack?
