Exploring art as transformation, from found objects to abstract works. Found steel objects are often the basic material for Hex's abstract sculptures. With the help of welding equipment, an angle grinder, a hammer, and a polishing machine, he creates impressive and beautifully shaped works of art, sometimes small and sometimes monumental. Today works by Hex can be found in collections and public places worldwide. This book gives an overview of his works of the last ten years. Hex saw himself as a sculptor at a young age and sold his first sculpture when he was only twenty-five. Successful exhibitions and scholarships followed, taking Hex to work in Italy, England, Namibia, the United States, and Canada, among other places. He was admitted to the prestigious Royal Society of Sculptors and, in addition to steel, began working with other materials like marble and bronze.
