What happens when a calling becomes a life's work? In It's About Time: A Memoir of Ministry at Georgetown College, Dwight A. Moody reflects on eleven transformative years serving as Dean of the Chapel at Georgetown College. More than a memoir, this is a richly woven tapestry of faith, leadership, higher education, preaching, vocation, and the people who shaped a remarkable era in the life of a historic Baptist college. Combining personal narrative with sermons, prayers, letters, articles, speeches, and historical documents, Moody invites readers behind the scenes of campus life, revealing the triumphs, controversies, challenges, and joys that accompanied his ministry from 1997 to 2008. From chapel services and student leadership to international travel, the Lilly vocation initiative, church relations, and the ongoing conversation about the Christian identity of higher education, he offers an honest and compelling account of faith lived in community. Along the way, readers encounter memorable students, distinguished scholars, influential ministers, community leaders, and family members whose stories illuminate larger questions of purpose and calling. Moody writes candidly about success and disappointment, institutional change and personal struggle, always returning to the conviction that vocation is discovered where faith, service, and discernment intersect.
