Catherine and Deirdre give you a simple introduction to lapbooking and a variety of lapbooks they have created through the years about eight different countries (Canada, Chile, Dominican Republic, Haiti, "Emerald Isle," Galapagos Islands of Ecuador, Panama, and Papua New Guinea). Clearly these countries are a mere sampling of the wonderful countries across the world that you can study with your students. Our hope is that you and your students will take these ideas and put together your own lapbooks after you've done several of these. You will quickly see that these lapbooks have many things in common: maps, flags, timelines, and pictures. They also have one other thing in common - little to no instructions. Catherine and Deirdre believe in giving students and teachers some basic tools to get them started and then the flexibility to go in whichever directions they desire. Add file folders, students, and imagination and you should be ready to go!
