From the challenges of her being the only black student at an upper crust white bread school, to her fitting in and trying to prove her blackness, getting caught up in the 90s black power movement thus leading to her joining a fanatic cult, becoming a unwed mother at the young age of 21, her relationships, her failed American dream, losing both her parents back to back, dealing with a her narcissist drug addicted daughter, providing a strong hand in raising her grandson to finding her dream and purpose in life.
