While in North America, God calls him to volunteer with a Christian network dedicated to helping free slaves escape to safe havens in Canada and the northern states, provided by divine intervention and reminiscent of the Underground Railroad. After the colonel's return to England, he continues to face challenges that test his faith, yet he remains steadfast-becoming a pillar of strength in the Lord as he fulfills his part in the Great Commission to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.
