The purpose of dyeing is generally to color a textile material uniformly. It is possible to achieve a variety of colors on a fabric through knitting or weaving, but in such cases, these items are made from materials that have been pre-dyed in solid colors. Printing, however, is a specific finishing technique distinct from dyeing that allows for the direct application of multicolored designs onto a textile, whether it has been previously dyed a solid color or is simply bleached.Printing is the simplest and generally the most cost-effective way to create a multicolored pattern on a textile. This material can be woven fabric, knit fabric, carpet, or nonwoven fabric.The design is transferred to the fabric by applying color to specific areas or by removing a color that was initially fixed to the fabric. Generally, printed patterns repeat at regular intervals along the length and width of the fabric. This spacing of the same pattern is called the repeat or pattern repeat. All details of textile printing will be described in this book.
