Carl A. P. Ruck es un filólogo y académico estadounidense especializado en mitología griega y el estudio de sustancias enteogénicas en contextos religiosos y culturales. Su trabajo se enmarca en los géneros de la historia de las religiones, la etnobotánica y los estudios clásicos, con un enfoque en el uso de plantas psicoactivas en la antigüedad.

Entre sus obras más destacadas se encuentra El Camino a Eleusis (1978), coescrito con Albert Hofmann y R. Gordon Wasson, donde se explora el papel de sustancias enteogénicas en los antiguos Misterios de Eleusis. También es autor de Sacred Mushrooms of the Goddess (2006), donde analiza el papel de los hongos alucinógenos en tradiciones religiosas. Su trabajo ha sido influyente en la comprensión de la conexión entre mitología y enteógenos.
