Reseña del libro "America at Sunset: The End of Pax Americana (en Inglés)"

"America at Sunset" by Judge Hal Moroz. "On the eve of World War I, Sir Edward Grey, the British foreign secretary, issued a somber and prophetic warning. 'The Lamps are going out, ' he said, 'all over Europe.' That statement could be repeated now, with one important, chilling difference. The lamps are going out, not simply on one continent, but all over the world...They are even in danger of going out in the United States-where the torch of liberty is supposed to burn its brightest." Secretary William E. Simon, Secretary of the Treasury, Nixon and Ford Administrations. * Pax Americana is a Latin phrase that literally means the "American Peace." It refers to the United States as the preeminent world power, and the relative state of peace that has existed in America since the end of the Second World War. True, we have had conflicts since the War, but none on such a global scale. Our current state of affairs would suggest the dawn of a new era for America, one in which we will come face to face with a relentless enemy, not Communism or Nazism as in the past, but with a new and re-invigorated enemy of civilization as we know it. And that enemy is Islam. Before Pax Americana, there was Pax Britannica, and it was said of Britain that "the sun never set on the British empire." Great Britain ruled the waves, but the sun did finally set on that empire. America's time of peace and vast economic, political, and military success are similar to Pax Romana. Rome enjoyed centuries of economic expansion, territorial acquisition, and military superiority. Rome, like America, still had wars, but they were limited and did not impede the growth of the superpower. Indeed, it can be said of both Rome and America that with their ascendency civilization prospered. Manufacturing, trade, agriculture all expanded without interruption, to heights that were unachieved by any nation before. But, alas, Pax Romana was no more. It was ended from within and without. After a long history of achieving peace through strength, Rome began to lose wars and territories. Barbarians entered its gates and changed its culture. Its armies defeated, its cities ransacked, and its heart stopped. But this death was not without its warning signs. And the greater tragedy was that Rome's demise ushered in the Dark Ages for the entire world. It took the Crusades to end the Dark Ages and set the stage for this shining city on a hill. It will take a concerted effort in our time to stem the tide of Muslim barbarism and make America great again. This, my friends, is our time to rise and fight! It is a defining moment in the history of our nation. Right here, right now, it begins! "America at Sunset" tells us how to make America great again ... and much more!
