Theodore Leighton Pennell (1867-1912) was a doctor and Christian missionary. He spent much of his time living with various tribes of Afghanistan and Pakistan, where he founded a missionary hospital. He was awarded the Kaisar-i-Hind Medal for Public Service in India. This fascinating volume is a record of his life's work beginning with his moving to Bannu in 1893 to introduce the gospel to those travelling in and out of Afghanistan. "Among the Wild Tribes of the Afghan Frontier" is highly recommended for those with an interest in Afghanistan in the late nineteenth century Many vintage books such as this are becoming increasingly scarce and expensive.
