In the preamble, the people of United Nations express their determination "to reaffirm faith in fundamental human rights, in the dignity and worth of human person, in the equal rights of men and women and of nations large and small". The United Nations can only live up to the expectations which are raised by its charter and collective efforts are made by all of its organs as also by other organs of international and national society and Governments, inter-governmental and non- governmental agencies and organizations of the world and along with them the individuals share the responsibility of joining in a common human rights effort.
