The writing of this book was inspired by various factors, which inter alia included: either writing something worth reading or doing something worth writing. In this connection, I chose the former, motivated by a desire to contribute to knowledge on how SADC mediation and facilitation efforts unfolded in Lesotho. The centre of all political wrangles were the outcome of the elections which took place in 2007, 2012, 2015 and 2017. Understanding the causes of snap elections and their impact on the country; tracing the history of security involvement in the governance of the country; and finally the impact of all these and others on peace and stability in Lesotho is key. The book has eleven chapters which covers a variety of aspects in the history of Lesotho.
